About Us
A mountain agency, built by someone who stayed. We are not a call center. We are your neighbor.

Our Story
Ashley Dalton has called Ruidoso home since 2013. Over the last several years she watched wildfire take hundreds of homes here, watched the burn scar send floodwater through town every summer after, and watched insurance company after insurance company decide this community was no longer worth writing. Rather than leave with them, she built the case for staying — speaking to the Department of Insurance and the state fire marshal, serving on the Rotary, the CWPP and the wildfire alliance, bringing Verisk and IBHS to town, and holding defensible-space seminars so people could prove their homes were worth insuring.
Going independent was the next step. As Summit Crest Insurance, she is free to shop dozens of carriers instead of one, including the surplus-lines markets that will still write a mountain home. Homeowners, ranchers, business owners and families across New Mexico, Texas and Arizona work with her — not a call center, not a 1-800 number. A neighbor.
Our Mission
We are a mountain agency. We insure the homes, ranches and businesses of the Sacramento Mountains — the places where the risk is real and the national carriers have stopped answering. Our clients are not a rating territory to us. They are our neighbors, and we intend to still be here after the next fire.
What We Stand For
We Are Your Neighbor
You are a name, not a rating territory. We live on the same roads, we evacuated with you, and we will still be here after the next fire.
Independent Advice
We work for you, not for one insurance company. That means we can shop dozens of carriers — including the surplus-lines markets that still write a mountain home — and tell you honestly which one you are in.
Plain English
Wildfire deductibles, binding restrictions, FAIR Plan limits — we will explain what your policy does and does not do before the loss, not after.
We Stayed
When the carriers left, we made the case for this community — at the Department of Insurance, on the CWPP and the wildfire alliance, and in defensible-space seminars so people could prove their homes were worth insuring.
